On Tuesday, January 20th, Derek and I watched history! We got out of class at noon, came home, and watched the inauguration festivities! I found it to be entertaining and intriguing! I must
admit, however, I also found it to be rather sad.
I don't think it is a secret that I have always been a big fan of President Bush, so I was sad to se
As I said I was sad to see him leave but I was comforted to see him after he left the capitol. He looked like he had the weight of the world lifted off him...he had a bounce in his step! When he returned to Texas there was a welcome home rally for him. If you did not see the video of the speech he gave I would suggest watching it, I found it to be very good! Here are the videos, Part 1 and Part 2.
A little about the Obamas...I am hoping that President Obama will be a good president. I think he is a smart and intelligent man. He is clearly a great speaker and knows how to win people over. I am not sure if he knows what he is doing...but honestly who does...it is not like there is a school that teaches you how to be the President of the United States!
Lastly, their daughters...they are the cutest little girls I have ever seen! The youngest daughter was so full of joy...she was smiling and bouncing as she walked. The oldest daughter had her
camera in hand and was capturing as much as she could. It was clear how proud they both are of their daddy! On the Today Show this morning they had a segment about the Bush and Obama daughters. The Bush daughters wrote a letter to the Obama daughters giving them advice for their upcoming years in the White House. If you did not see it I would suggest watching it (the video it below)...I really enjoyed it!
