It's Raining, It's Pouring, I Wish I Were Snoring

In Grenada there are two seasons; rainy and dry. Right now, we are leaving the dry season and entering the rainy season...it is also just the beginning of hurricane season. We are finally getting some much needed rain. Last night and today our first tropical system is moving through for this season. The weather channel was calling for a tropical wave to move through last night with gusting rain...and we got it! It rained here all night last night and it is over cast and raining today. The worst part of the rainy season is it is so humid...you could not believe it! I woke up at 8 o'clock this morning and look out the window to the east and there was a dark blue (stormy color) line in the sky, it looked pretty neat, but I knew we were about to get lots of rain. It should normally be bright sun shining skies that time of the morning, but not today it was very dark. Anyway, we are getting much needed rain. Hopefully, things will start to green up around here...everything is so brown and dead. Here are a few pictures we took our first term here, back in August of the rain.

Here is a picture of a bad storm coming, this is similar to how the sky looked this morning!

These next two pictures I think are really neat! When it rains here is pores, you can not see much at all when it rains!! I have never seen it rain so hard anywhere in my life! Here are two pictures I took to demonstrate this point. The pictures were taken about 30 minutes apart. The first picture it was raining really hard. However, the second picture it cleared off and you can see lots out our window!

Pretty amazing, huh?

Well, besides the weather, there is not much going on here. We are constantly going to class and doing homework. This semester has been really hard even though we only have 4 classes and not the usual 5. We have a whole lot to do before the end of the semester in 3 weeks!

We will also be celebrating our anniversary in a couple weeks. We have reservations for the weekend of the 4th at a resort here one the island. I will post pictures afterward. Speaking of the 4th of July, unfortunately, we will not be in the great USA to celebrate it. I think this will be the first 4th of July I can remember not spending at the lake...it's a little sad but I think we will have a good time at True Blue Bay (click the word to go to their website).

We can't wait to be home in about 3 weeks! Leave us a comment!

We can't wait for you to be home, either. It has gone by fast though, hasn't it! Mom

I am glad to hear that you all are getting the rain that you needed! I know you had spoken of how dead all the grass and things looked dead.

Thanks for new posting... I love to read your blog!
