We are freezing!!

So, we have been back in Grenada for almost 3 weeks and most of this time our air conditioning has been broken! The average temperature was 80 degrees, which is considerably hot when it is in the high 80s outside. This past weekend, the maintenance guy was able to get our room to cool by redirecting all the air for this floor to our room...but now it is too cold. Tonight when we returned from class it was 68 degrees in our room! We are not going to complain because we can always cover up with blankets or put more clothes on.

Our classes are getting very busy! This term is only 8 weeks long and we have 4 classes to complete in 8 short weeks. One of our classes consists of writing a 40 page paper! We are having lots of exams, papers, projects, and much more! However, all this makes the time go by fast making it seem even closer to when we come back home!

We had some fun this past weekend! Our MPH department had a kickball game on Saturday. We both played, Derek was the captain of our team...we thought we had a good team but we were badly beaten. But, that is okay because we had a fun time! After, the first game everyone decided we should play a girls against guys game...this second game did not last as long because the girls quickly lost interest and were being beaten very badly!! The following few days we were both very sore from the game...we could barely walk! We have decided we may be getting too old for things like this. Here are a few pictures.

Our team strategizing...too bad it didn't help!
Notice how dead the grass is...we are at the end of the dry season!
In deep concentration watching the game, haha!

After the hot long day of kickball we decided to go out for a nice dinner. We went to the Beach House Restaurant. It is a nice little open air restaurant located right on the beach. Derek had the fresh catch, Grilled Mahi Mahi. I had the shrimp with a spicy sesame and sweet sauce. They were both very good...but the best part was dessert. Derek had the Grand Etang Mud Slide, which is ice cream pie with vanilla, chocolate, and coffee ice cream...very yummy!! I had the Nutty Banana Blaze, which was caramelized bananas with coconut ice cream on top then when it is brought to the table they light some rum on fire and pour it over the ice cream and bananas...it was a fun presentation. Here are a few pictures.

When I took this picture it was still on fire but it did not show up in the picture.

We also found out this past week that we are going to be here during the Grenadian vote for Prime Minister, which is similar to the president at home. The elections have been called for and will take place July 8...right before we come home! It should be interesting to see how things are down here during an election!

Oh...and for those of you at home in Livingston...BE CAREFUL!! We know a TON of people back at home who are pregnant...we think there may be something in the water, haha!! I guess we are just getting that age where lots of people are having babies.

We hope you are all doing well! Can't wait to hear from you...leave us a comment!
