Long Time...No Blog

It has been a long time since I have updated the blog! We have been so busy with our classes and studying, I have not had time to do anything! But all our studying has paid off because we both have straight A's in the 3 classes that we have already completed this semester! A lot has happen since the last blog so I will try to update you...

The plugs in Grenada are 220 voltage, so to run our electronics we have to use a transformer. A few weeks ago our transformer died! We think the fuse blew. As you can see we are lucky we didn't have a fire. Needless to say, we had to go buy a new transformer.

February 1st was Superbowl Sunday. We didn't care about either of the teams playing but we still watched because it is the Superbowl. We went with a few friends to the True Blue Bay Resort to watch it, they set up a big projector screen. It was the perfect place; we had front row seats on sofas, the screen was facing the water, and we saw a pretty sunset while we waited for the game to start. We had a great time and the game was exciting too!

February 6th was my birthday! We had a great day. After class we went for a walk on the beach and that night we went out to eat with a few of our friends. Thank you to everyone who sent me gifts, cards, and well wishes! Also, to celebrate our birthdays Derek and I are staying at the True Blue Resort the weekend after our midterms...which will be the weekend of March 21st! It works out good because it is about half between our two birthdays.

On a different note but funny...we have decided that companies send their seconds to the grocery store here. Here is a good example. Click on the picture to enlarge it. See if you can find the miss-spelling on the bag! I found it funny!

Also, within the last month Grenada has had a few big events. One was Grenada's Independence Day. They go all out for Independence Day here, everyone dresses up in green, red, and yellow (the colors on the Grenadian flag) and there were banners, signs, and streamers up everywhere. Also, Grenada had their annual Grenada Sailing Festival. During the week of the festival we were in our room studying and looked out the window and saw lots of sailboats passing by. Below are a couple pictures from these events...
